Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our team, specializing in vehicle barrier systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including gate operators, bollards, and other vehicle barrier security systems. The position requires frequent travel to various client sites to ensure proper system installation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Configuration:
    • Install and configure vehicle barrier systems, including automatic gate operators, bollards, and other low voltage security devices.
    • Set up and program control panels, access control systems, and related low voltage components.
    • Ensure proper integration with other security systems, such as CCTV and alarm systems.
  2. Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicle barrier systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, control panels, and mechanical components.
    • Replace or upgrade parts and equipment as necessary to maintain system reliability.
  3. System Testing and Documentation:
    • Conduct thorough testing of installed systems to verify correct operation and compliance with industry standards.
    • Maintain detailed records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
    • Provide detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements or upgrades.
  4. Customer Support and Training:
    • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with clients.
    • Offer training and support to customers on the operation and maintenance of vehicle barrier systems.
    • Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Ensure installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  6. Travel Requirements:
    • Must be willing and able to travel frequently to various client sites for installation, maintenance, and support.
    • Some overnight stays may be required depending on the project location.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician, particularly with vehicle barrier systems or similar security infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, electrical circuits, and electronic components.
  • Familiarity with control panels, access control systems, and integration with other security technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and at different times of the day.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
