Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PLC Programmer with expertise in Unitronics systems to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining PLC systems for vehicle barrier systems, including gate operators, bollards, and other security infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of Unitronics PLCs and HMIs, as well as the ability to work on complex automation projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. PLC Programming and Configuration:
    • Design, develop, and program PLC systems using Unitronics PLCs and HMIs for vehicle barrier applications.
    • Write and modify PLC code using Unitronics programming software, including ladder logic and structured text.
    • Configure HMI systems for intuitive operation and monitoring of vehicle barrier systems.
  2. System Integration and Commissioning:
    • Integrate PLC systems with other control systems, such as access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
    • Conduct system commissioning, including testing and validation to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC programming and system integration.
  3. Technical Support and Documentation:
    • Provide technical support to field technicians and clients for PLC-related issues, including remote and on-site troubleshooting.
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system designs, programming notes, and user manuals.
    • Maintain accurate records of all programming changes and system modifications.
  4. Continuous Improvement and Optimization:
    • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and functionality.
    • Stay updated on the latest Unitronics PLC technologies and industry trends to implement best practices.
    • Participate in the design and development of new control systems and features.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all programming and installations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety features in PLC systems to protect personnel and equipment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience as a PLC Programmer, with specific expertise in Unitronics PLCs and HMI systems.
  • Proficiency in Unitronics programming software, including ladder logic and structured text.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles, as well as control systems integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to client sites for system installation, commissioning, and support.
